The legendary game of the Czech Viet Cong from the studio Pterodon last year celebrated its 20th anniversary. Although the first part of 2003 was followed by a full-fledged sequel just two years later, the cult status among domestic players was mainly earned by the first issue and its data disc Fist Alpha.
That the game still has its fans, at least here, is demonstrated by the community’s efforts to create maintaining an active multiplayer component of the game. In recent weeks and months, it is worth paying attention to the activities of a clan called {GS} Team, whose members managed to launch a multiplayer mode even after the GameSpy service was discontinued.
In addition, the game can be played on modern operating systems, including Windows 10 and 11. If you want to try out the first Viet Cong’s multiplayer with other Czech and Slovak players, you can visit the clan’s Facebook page. Instructions for starting the game can be found on the group’s official website. Below you can watch a short gameplay trailer.
“I would like to share this post mainly with the gamer community who care about Viet Cong as much as I do. We play Viet Cong multiplayer on Twitch, and for many of you who played it and stopped because you couldn’t see the servers, there is a solution. If you want to play a cartoon of this old Czech classic, feel free to write to the {GS} team page on FB for advice. group members encourage other players.
