In the studio Obsidian Entertainment someone ate funny porridge. The developers make fun of not only the universe they created, but also the players themselves. Those who purchased The Outer Worlds 2 V Premium edition for 2499 CZK (99 EUR) in addition to early access to the game, they got something extra that no one expected. The creators even laughed at them.
“The Earth Directorate has discovered a flaw in you! Consumerism. You are the reason our marketing works. Promotions and discounts have infected your brain, and instead of financial planning, you are more interested in what to buy next.” displayed to players in the game.
The Outer Worlds’ flaws are common game mechanics. It’s about negative traits, which limit the player in some way, but at the same time provide him with certain bonuses. For example, it is this “flaw” that reduces merchant prices by 15%, while the goods sold become 10% cheaper, so you pay more and get less from the merchant.
That’s not all. Players who miss dialogue and cutscenes may experience another bug called foot-in-mouth syndrome.. This increases the experience gained by 15%, but the game automatically selects answers for them in conversations. In other words, if you’re tired of listening to NPCs, the game will decide to do it for you.
A third interesting case appeared on Reddit – Easily distracted. This disadvantage will appear for players who spread their experience across all skills. Result? They get one extra point per level, but they have to invest it in an area they haven’t yet developed. “You’re a jack of all trades, but you’re a master of all trades.” the game says ironically. Who knows what else this sci-fi world is hiding.
The Outer Worlds 2 was released on October 29 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game is also part of Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
