Senua Saga: Hellblade 2 it’s an unconventional game with an unconventional marketing campaign. Studio Ninja Theory has prepared a long video in which we dive into the depths of the protagonist’s psychosis. Already on the first part, the developers worked with experts in the field of mental health and people suffering from schizophrenia and psychosis. They expanded this collaboration for the sequel. Without them the game would not have been created.
“Psychosis is a condition characterized by the erroneous perception of thoughts and sensory perceptions that the patient perceives as real. This is how they arise delusions and hallucinations“ WikiScript explains. The goal of the creators of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is to involve us in this completely different world and show what people suffering from psychosis and schizophrenia experience.
“We hope to once again allow you to experience what it’s like to hear voices, see things only you can see, and follow beliefs that may be unusual to others.” the creators explain and they recommend playing with headphonesso that we no longer perceive anything.
One of the staff is Eddie, who suffers from psychosis and works at CPFT in Cambridgeshire, England, where they help people with these problems. “I saw angels and talked to them, I even went to hell itself. Recovery college and support group changed my life. I thought my health would never improve, but here I am. What Senua experiences in Hellblade is very similar to my own experience.” Eddie talks in the video.
