It seems the plans Amazon into an addictive environmental MMO middle earth took it for myself. According to a former developer, the project that was delivered worldwide was canceled lord of the ringswhich the Amazon Games team worked on. The project was supposed to be in a very early stage, but internal cutbacks and layoffs have likely stalled it for good.
“I was released this morning along with my incredibly talented colleagues from the New World team and our ongoing project in the world. Lord of the Rings (seriously, you would like him)” wrote Ashley Amrin, former member of the Amazon Games Orange County team (New World writers) on LinkedIn. The post was deleted shortly after, sparking rumors that Ashley had revealed more than she should have. Amazon has not yet officially commented on the entire situation.
LOTR MMO is also confirmed to be dead again. (together with the New World)
