2024 is a thing of the past, and Valve has announced the results of the annual Steam Awards. The winners were determined by the community itself, which selected the best games in all 11 categories. From breathtaking visuals to innovative gameplay to games that excel in co-op play, this year’s awards honored a wide range of games, from AAA blockbusters to lesser-known masterpieces.
The biggest triumph was the Chinese role-playing game Black Myth: Wukongwinning three awards: Game of the Year, Game You Don’t Like, and Game with Best Story. Most players win the first two awards, but the award for best story has sparked heated debate on social media. In it we read that there are not many players who would talk about the history of the creation of this game.
However, the Chinese studio Game Science can finally be satisfied. When they didn’t win the top prize at The Game Awards 2024 (beating out Astro Bot), they were very upset.
Dissatisfaction is also caused by ratings in the categories “Immortal Game”, “Best Visual” and “Best Soundtrack”. In the first case, he takes the prize Elden Ringdefeating No Man’s Sky, Stardew Valley and Baldur’s Gate 3. In the latter case Silent Hill 2which surpassed Metaphor: ReFantazio, Neva and Hades 2 in the number of votes. In the third case Red Dead Redemptiondefeating Silent Hill 2 and Horizon Forbidden West.

The 2023 Game of the Year awards included Baldur’s Gate 3, Starfield for its innovative gameplay, and Red Dead Redemption 2 for its timeless gameplay.
