Creators crisis RiME, Gilt And Song of Nunu: History of League of Legends deepens. Following October layoffs and the cancellation of an unannounced project, the Spanish indie studio announced Tequila Works bankruptcy.

Simultaneously with filing for bankruptcy, the founders of the studio resigned. Terence Mosca has been appointed as the new CEO. He’s proud of what the team has accomplished together, but prolonged market conditions forced the studio to file for bankruptcy.

“From the very beginning, Tequila Works’ game development philosophy has been to create interesting things. We are doing everything we can to provide support and assistance to our teams during this difficult time.” Mosca stated.

Let us remind you that in 2022 the Chinese became the majority shareholder of Tequila Works. Tencent. The money was to be used to support the growth of the studio and the development of original brands. The studio’s latest game was last year’s Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story, published by now-defunct publisher Riot Forge.
