A computer case that doesn’t look like a computer case at first glance, or a small Mini-ITX case that isn’t that small. The new product from the Scandinavian manufacturer can unobtrusively harmonize with the surrounding interior elements, and also attract attention with its dominant position on the countertop. It will serve as a quiet workstation or multimedia station, and will also be able to accommodate large components of a top-end gaming system. Just make your choice.
Apparently, Swedish manufacturer Fractal Design continues to ride the wave of interest in computer cabinets with a typically Scandinavian design that fit well into our living rooms and offices, assembled from products from the world famous furniture company. His latest models not only have a design similar to furniture, but also have a common feature – the use of natural materials. Consider, for example, the previously tested North cabinets or the larger North XL, which boast wood details. The exclusive Terra Mini-ITX case also features wood and aluminum construction. In terms of the use of a textile case, today’s new product is similar to the Ridge case, also for Mini-ITX.
Fractal design Mood
According to a loose translation of the manufacturer’s commentary, his goal was to create a secret gaming station. That is, computer cabinets that can house a powerful gaming rig, but won’t look like a gaming PC from the outside. The last cabinet has a minimal area and therefore takes up little space on the table. The shell of her tall body is covered in textile fabric and can be retracted in one motion to provide 360° access to the set’s components. The highest gaming performance of the set can be ensured by a video card up to 325 mm long and a powerful processor with a 280 mm AIO cooler.

The English word “Mood” can be translated as “Mood”. I admit, I can only guess about the direct connection of this word with the cabinet being tested. Its textile-covered mantle has a pleasant appearance and is sure to become a harmonious part of a cozy home. The office also reminds me of a speaker, which is usually a source of good mood. So, I think.
The Fractal Design Mood cabinet comes in two color options i.e. in shades of black and light grey. For the purpose of today’s review, I chose the light gray version, which allows for better photography.
Package
For several years now, Fractal Design has been using exclusively visually inconspicuous boxes made of natural cardboard with a minimalist monochrome print. Thus, only the cabinet name and the manufacturer’s mark are displayed on the walls of the box. Attached labels identify the model and color version of the cabinet.
The cabinet inside the box is well protected by a pair of glued polyethylene foam segments. The manufacturer inserted a box with cabinet fittings into the cutouts in the segments.
