Gears of War: E-Day unveiled

Xbox had one big announcement ready for the very end of its presentation, which had been widely speculated about for a few weeks prior. This is a new part of the Gears of War action series from the Coalition studio. Ultimately, however, this is not a sequel; the new game, subtitled E-Day, is a prequel to the entire series.

As the title suggests, it is dedicated to Emergence Day, which took place 14 years before the first part. The day when the so-called Pendulum Wars ended, but at the same time the Locust Horde attacked and thus began a long conflict.

The main character, as in the original trilogy, will be Marcus Fenix, and his friend Dominic Santiago will also be present. As in previous parts of Coalition, we can count on a very high level of graphics, this time also thanks to Unreal Engine 5. However, the published trailer is still only the engine and not footage directly from the gameplay.

Besides, we don’t know anything about the game. There is no approximate release date or even platform specified, although we can assume that Gears of War: E-Day will be released on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Or will it be a game for the next generation of consoles? Hopefully we won’t have to wait that long.
