Total War: Pharaoh is a new part of the historical branch of the Total War series, which will take you to Egypt during its heyday. That is, to be more precise, until the moment when the whole empire begins to unrest. The presented sample is aimed at Ramesses. This young general will lead the armies of Egypt in the name of their ruler. This allows you to see the units of that faction in action.
It’s safe to say that he puts a lot of emphasis on light infantry and archers who flood enemies with arrows. Unit management is very similar to what Total War Saga: Troy offered. And when we write here about the similarity, it is almost 1:1. Similarly, the game is similar to the less successful entry in the series also in terms of city building, diplomacy, or raw materials. At least from what the creators envision on PC, the direct successor to Total War Saga: Troy is likely to arrive in October with a few new features. The question is whether they will be significant enough that Total War: Pharaoh is not called a simple copy, which takes place in another part of the ancient world.
