Gavin Raeburnone of the success developers of the team Playground Gamesfounds a new studio called Lighthouse Games. Like Playground, it will be based in the English city of Leamington Spa and will focus on developing a AAA game built on a brand new IP.
“I’m delighted to have thirty former colleagues and other industry figures join me at Lighthouse,” says Raeburn, noting that with the developers at Lighthouse comes a lot of experience. [Playground Games] now at Lighthouse and we intend to create something really special with her and use all of our experience to create a brand that will define an entire genre.”
Lighthouse isn’t the first spin-off from the studio behind the hugely successful Forza Horizon racing series, and it’s currently working on a reboot of Fable. In January, six high-profile developers, led by creative director Mike Brown, left Playground Games and also founded AAA Studio. Maverick Games.
