Released in December, The Callisto Protocol received very mixed reviews. Aside from the game design itself, optimizing for PC was a big challenge from the start. Luckily, at least the stuttering caused by shader compilation was fixed shortly after release. And the update definitely does not end there, the developers from Striking Distance announced today and immediately released another big update.
It contains bug fixes on both consoles and PC, but most importantly, it adds the long-awaited New Game Plus feature, which allows players to play through the story again, carrying over all gear and credits from the first playthrough. According to the original roadmap, this mode wasn’t supposed to be added until February 7th, so we finally managed to get it almost three weeks ahead of schedule.
Hardcore difficulty is planned for the future and will also be added as a free update. Skins, new modes and story expansions will also appear in the Paid Season Pass.
The new update is available for all platforms, including New Game+. Based on your feedback, we’ve also fixed the maximum security achievement/trophy bug and posted a full list of all the fixes and changes we’ve made since launch here: https://t.co/pabAnvc7uJ. pic.twitter.com/SWFFcihOkH
