Turns became the first player to reach level 7000 in Fortnite. But his feat caused more ridicule than admiration.
Player Fortnite with nickname Terns (known in the game as Canada) after 82 days of almost continuous play entered the history of the game – at least, according to him, he was the first to achieve this level 7000 Quite fair and regular game.
He documented his journey on social media but did not receive any special gifts or benefits. Fortnite stops giving out rewards once you hit level 200, so it was purely a leaderboard thing.
But, as Turns himself admitted, he spent most of his time in the so-called bot lobbythat is, matches involving AI players officially supported by Epic Games. This allowed him to progress faster, but also caused a wave of criticism – many players called his performance a ridiculous example of mindless grinding.
Turns says he was motivated by the community of other “grinders” on Discord. But if you enjoyed the whole trip to the top, then there is nothing to worry about. Games are designed to entertain players.
Although Fortnite is celebrating this year 10 yearsthe case of Turns shows that this game can still attract players and not let go. Sometimes perhaps too much.
