We are all familiar with some very interesting videos on the Internet (ahem) about cleaning various surfaces with high pressure water jets. However, because for many of us this is something very exotic, and, let’s face it, in this day and age of constantly drying up bodies of water and very senseless waste, a few smart minds at the FuturLab studio decided to get together and bring us this experience in digital form.

There is no complicated story with plot twists in PowerWash Simulator. In a word, you get a hose, several types of handles and set off to clean the world from dirt. Your first task, of course, is to clean the car, but soon your turn will reach the first house. Each baby is divided into five parts, for the implementation of which you receive a pleasant reward – stars (and, of course, also minor material benefits in the form of dollars). Piles of dirt that cover a garden or playground may seem impossible to clean, but the game deftly divides the entire environment into smaller areas, which, after washing, will flash with a pleasant ring as a sign of cleanliness. Little by little, even the biggest chub will see the light before you even expect it, and the job is done. The final time lapse/replay video showing your cleaning is also a great feature.

The journey to build your cleaning empire will take you through many locations. One moment you’ll be washing your car in a garage, and the next you’ll be called to clean a skate park, a fire station, a spinning carousel, or the mayor’s luxurious house bombarded with egg attacks (of course, for safety reasons). reasons, the mayor won’t let you in, so it’s time to splash water from the street). Individual quests unlock gradually and you can have more than one, so there’s certainly no danger of monotony. To get to all the locations on the map, you also have steps, stairs, or even multi-story scaffolding. You can set it all up so that even the last centimeter of the surface is cleaned of dirt. However, in many cases the game is very friendly and will recognize you for clearing even if some place is missing.

The reward system in the game is designed not only for your pride and satisfaction, but also allows you to purchase weapons of higher efficiency. At first, you will only have a light sparkler at your disposal, but after a few successful deals, you will be able to purchase calibers such as Urban X U2 or Prime Vista PRO. But that’s not all. The shop also sells attachments and nozzles for more precise cleaning over long distances, or different colors of gloves, suits, and gun colors. But that’s not all. One of the most important weapons in your arsenal is, of course, chemistry. “Soaps” are divided into categories of effectiveness on different surfaces and can be compared with a shotgun from Call of Duty – with the help of a spray gun, they will sort out even the most stubborn dirt and aggressive bird droppings at a short distance. However, their disadvantage is relatively high price, limited availability and consumption – unlike the endless flow of water, soaps come in liter cans, so their application must be surgically accurate. Investing in better quality hoses before purchasing cleaners remains a good strategy.

Great news – the presence of cooperative multiplayer, even on different platforms. So there’s nothing stopping you from sending an invitation to your friends (one in career mode, up to five others in free play) and enjoy squirting together. A slight downside to the beauty is the inability to bring your own dishes into the game together, so you can always use only your main hose without soap and nozzles. In addition to the “story” campaign, the game also offers the possibility of completing individual levels and a challenge mode where you will fight against time or the amount of water consumed.

However, not everything is as crystal clear as it might seem. The game does not have any ambient soundtrack at all, so if you don’t want to go crazy with the constant pssssss of water, you will definitely have to turn on the series, audiobook or podcast in the background. On the other hand, this is probably also a directly conceived function of the creators. Also prepare your nerves for chasing the last cleaning percentage – while the game offers you the ability to show remaining dirt with a button and even mark uncleaned passages in the menu, their color is often lost in the game’s heavily contrasted graphics. . Purity advocates will miss the non-existent water physics (whether you start cleaning from the bottom or the top) and the endless amount of water.
