While Turtle Rock Studios isn’t quite ready to tell us when to expect the next expansion for cooperative zombie game Back 4 Blood, the developers got a little cheeky on Twitter and revealed it. They have also more or less confirmed that this will be the fifth act, and that the cleaners will be fighting a doomsday cult there.
Over the past few weeks, Turtle Rock has provided information on the upcoming Back 4 Blood expansion: the upcoming Bear Trap is a feature we can expect when Act 5 releases, for example. features what appears to be a stronghold of the cult, with crucified bodies and fires lit outside to alert lawyers or tidbits going door to door.
“We would like to confirm a release date for our expansion 2, but we need a little more time.” the study says. “This is an exciting update and we’re so excited that it’s grown a cult following in these places – some of us are so flippant we act like we’re 5 years old.”
The intentional capitalized “Action” and the “5” in the last sentence are a pretty clear sign of what to expect in the second expansion.
Turtle Rock has previously revealed three new maps this will be available in Back 4 Blood in the near future. There’s the Crippling Frequency ability, the Experimental Taser utility, and the Fill ‘Em With Lead talent. Perhaps the most interesting thing about them is that the first two include an activation cost paid for certain types of ammo: Disabling Frequency can be activated by spending 30 pistol/SMG ammo, while Experimental Taser requires 30 rifle ammo.
We will certainly know more about Back 4 Blood Act 5 in the near future.
