PHOTO MODE
Express yourself with a wide variety of filters, stickers, poses and other customization options in DEATHLOOP’s brand new Photo mode. Available only in single player mode, Photo mode can be accessed via the pause menu on any map or by activating the shortcut (“P” key on PC by default). To enable Quick Connect on PlayStation 5:
Options > Commands > “Controller” tab > Photo mode quick access > Yes
Once in the game, double-press the “Create” button (the button to the left of the touchpad button) on your DualSense to turn on Photo mode.
“This Photo mode is a great way to let our players get creative by taking advantage of DEATHLOOP’s unique graphics and levels,” says producer Jérémy Leuliet. “Only the limits of creativity are determined by the imagination of the players. We are all wondering how deeply players will explore the different options and what they will come up with.”
As a professional photographer, in addition to being able to choose filters and shots, you can swap Colt and Julianna, change outfits and weapons (including leather and certain types of guns), and try your luck at over a dozen exposures worth sharing.
“One of the biggest challenges was adapting Photo mode to a first-person shooter where the character was not shown, let alone weapons and hands,” explains Leuliet. “We wanted to provide the best possible experience for this mod, and we took the time to test it extensively and even asked players who are experienced with using the various Photo modes in games. We had a lot of fun testing the Photo mode, adding a lot of things to make it even more enjoyable to use. relevant options to bring in.”
“Every time we release a game, Photo mode is one of the most requested features by gamers,” adds studio director Dinga Bakaba. “Seeing how virtual photographers can take incredible shots in our worlds without a dedicated mode, we couldn’t be more excited to bring these tools to the entire community.”
ACCESSIBILITY FUNCTIONS
“We are truly grateful to the players and community who gave us so much feedback when DEATHLOOP was released,” says chief interface designer Yoann Bazoge. “We took the time to read all the accessibility reviews and watch players’ videos explaining why they were unable to play DEATHLOOP. We then worked on a document listing all the feedback and created a roadmap that will be additions to update 3 to the game.”
Game Update 3 offers more than 30 changes and accessibility options, from improvements to menu navigation and interface options, and a host of new game options. The update also adds a special Accessibility category, which can be found in the options menu. This new menu includes your current options and many new options introduced with this update:
New game settings that allow players to further customize the battle in Single Player (most not available in Online or Friend modes). For example, increase or decrease the combat difficulty, change the number of shots and slow down the game speed.
New interface and subtitle options, such as customizing the size, opacity and color of various text and graphic elements.
Easier menu navigation that lets you use the arrow keys on the remote to scroll up and down lists. Pointer speed can now be adjusted in settings to make it easier to navigate settings with a controller.
“One of the things we didn’t expect when we started using accessibility features was how some of these options could be useful and fun for everyone,” Bakaba says. “My favorites are slow motion that lets you create combinations that would otherwise be nearly impossible, and the number of shots that let you experiment with no results with endless settings. Or, you can make the game more challenging by completely resetting the shots.”
“Accessibility in games is a complex issue,” Bazoge says. “We estimate that over 400 million players need additional support while playing. Therefore, there are a lot of people who may feel left out without some of these options. When we started discussing this with our teams, they were all very motivated to improve . . . ”
