An upcoming survival FPS game inspired by games like Escape From Tarkov and DayZ called Road to Vostok has updated its current free demo after a lot of community feedback and you can expect the shooter to play a bit better than it did before it was released. release of the second demo and early access.
A demo of Road to Vostok was released last year, and the developer said more than 300,000 people tried the shooter. After collecting all the feedback, shooting, looting, and AI are the areas of the game that will receive the most improvements. According to the roadmap, a second public demo is planned for the third quarter of this year, with early access and a full release to be announced.
According to the lone developer, improvements to shooting mechanics also come from the bar set by games like Escape From Tarkov. “I think it’s a good thing, games like this motivate us to improve our FPS mechanics and set higher quality targets for weapons and shooting in video games.”
Check out the Road to the East update below, as the developer is still preparing to release a second public demo in the future.

The Road to Vostok 1 v2 public demo also includes a new accessory system with an updated weapon inspection interface, a recoil overhaul, and an overhaul of the entire weapon sound system. The loot system has also been completely revamped, with hotkeys, new item icons, and much fewer bugs.
According to the developer, the public demo of Road to Vostok 1 v2 “seems to be really positive, and there are already great development suggestions regarding the core mechanics,” so expect more changes over time and with the second full demo build. . If you already have the Road to Vostok demo, v2 should install automatically.
v2 has many new additions such as winter map options, village area expansion, water mechanics, stairs, surrounding areas, night vision goggle filter, variable optics for weapons, nature shaders and an extensive menu of options. . However, swimming and fishing still need work, so they’ve been removed and the village map expansion is smaller than it could be due to the focus on gameplay changes.
“While the basic content of the demo is essentially the same, the so-called ‘feel of the game’ should now be much better,” says the developer, and after trying Road East, I can see how it’s been improved. Most of the weapons are a joy to use, and while there’s not much to do in the demo itself, what this game promises and how it draws inspiration from games like DayZ and Escape From Tarkov are pretty clear.
The release date is unknown, so the Steam Early Access page is the best place to start with Road to Vostok. You can download the current demo, add the game to your wishlist, and learn more about what Early Access means for DayZ, Escape From Tarkov, and The Day Before.
Will Road to Vostok become one of the best indie games available on PC? Will it fit with many of the upcoming PC games? Only time will tell, but we’ll be here all the time.
