We don’t know the official price of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 yet, but the GPU maker has reportedly brought its AIB partners out in the open by making last-minute changes. After that, companies like Asus, MSI, and others are likely to try to adjust their release plans.
We learned last week that the RTX 4070 could cost as much as the RTX 3070 Ti, which could make it the best graphics card for those looking to save money on the latest GeForce series. However, this news seems to have surprised us, as has the addition of Nvidia as a partner.
According to sources close to YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead, “Nvidia’s AIB partners were notified Monday morning (April 3) that the price [for the RTX 4070] It won’t be $750, it will actually be $600.” This is despite plans these companies have made “over the course of several months” to sell most of their initial stock for around $700.
If that $600 price is right, it would create a significant gap between the next GeForce GPU and its bigger, more expensive sibling, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. However, it remains to be seen how big the performance difference is between the two cards.
Hopefully this will get AMD to drop the price of the Radeon RX 7800 XT when it finally arrives, likely later this year. However, lowering the cost of the 7900 XT doesn’t hurt either.
