Minecraft and d&d: Players will be able to dive deep and defeat dragons in new DLC | minecraft and dnd

At the latest D&D Direct, Wizards of the Coast were delighted to announce new partnerships that will expand the reach of the D&D brand, whether it be digital games or even collectible figurines produced by renowned manufacturers Hasbro and WizKids. The first of these partnerships is with Minecraft to launch the official in-game D&D DLC, available for purchase on the Minecraft Marketplace in the second quarter of 2023.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Wizards of the Coast to bring new Dungeons & Dragons DLC scenarios to Minecraft! We can’t wait for the community to dive into the new pixelated D&D world experience,” says Ricardo Lenzi, Senior Producer at Mojang Studios.

In the new D&D expansion, players can select classes such as Barbarian and Wizard and explore five iconic locations from the Forgotten Realms universe, such as Candlekeep and Icewind Dale, while defeating classic villains such as beholders, mimes, mind flayers and, of course, dragons. This new adventure also allows you to customize attributes and d20 (20-sided die), which determines how dialogue will be triggered. This is a unique opportunity to gather friends and experience Dungeons & Dragons in the world of Minecraft.

In addition, Hasbro has delved into the D&D multiverse and revealed incredible figurines that fans of the game will love. In addition to Dicelings (20-sided dice that transform into creatures) and six-inch statues of characters from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among the Rebels and the classic Dragon Cave cartoon, Hasbro will also be releasing miniatures from the Golden Archives, including Xanathar, the bear- the owl and the displacement panther from the new movie.

For fans of Magic: The Gathering (MTG), Wizards has announced a special edition of the Secret Lair line tie-in with Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among the Rebels. The set includes six cards based on characters from the film such as Ejin, Forge and Holga, all of which are reminiscent of the actors who played their roles in the film. Pre-orders for Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Rebels are now available in the US and Europe on the official MTG website.

Letter to R.A. Salvatore, in the book series The Legend of Drizzt, became responsible for the vision of many Forgotten Realms D&D fans, the Forgotten Realms. With the publication of The Tao of Drizzt (in English) last year and the upcoming release later this year of the finale of the Lolth Warrior trilogy – the most recent featuring a drow ranger – Salvatore is rescuing a character so significant to fans. Additionally, Wizards partners Gearbox Publishing and Cryptic Studios are teaming up with Salvatore to create Menzoberranzan, the 25th expansion to the hit MMO Neverwinter. The new DLC is now available for purchase on PC, Xbox and Playstation and for the first time in the game allows you to explore the dangerous city.

“Writing a video game is very different from writing a book,” Salvatore said in an interview that aired on D&D Direct. “The player will walk around the world looking at it through Drizzt’s eyes, but when I’m writing for a video game, the most important character is the one the player assumes. IN neverwinterThe work of the team surprises me all the time and the fact that they are inspired by my work makes me feel really good.”

At another point in the broadcast, WizKids, who have given life to hundreds of D&D creatures over the years, unveiled their most grotesque — or cutest — product line. Replicas of D&D worlds. From the outside, the mime may look like a treasure chest, but its purple tongue and sharp teeth will make any adventurer lose their lunch – and hands – pretty quickly. However, the 50 cm figure is no match for the 27 cm sculpture of an owl-bear with puppy eyes.

D&D Direct concluded with the details of a documentary directed by Joe Manganiello celebrating the game’s 50th anniversary in 2024. Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford also left hints about what’s to come in books and stories featuring beloved characters and villains. The broadcast also featured pre-alpha gameplay of Wizards of the Coast’s new D&D VTT Virtual Board. There has never been a better time than now to start playing Dungeons & Dragons!
