The Steam Deck community is concerned that the system cannot run Star Wars Jedi Survivor due to the game’s specifications. So far, the portable system has shown that it can run many AAA games, but the increased hardware requirements mean that not everything can run on Valve’s gaming PC. .
Given Star Wars Jedi Survivor’s high system requirements, some Steam Deck users are unsure if Respawn Entertainment’s game will run on PC. A discussion on Reddit highlights some of these concerns, as its whopping 130GB in size is pretty staggering.
As of this writing, no performance metrics have been provided for the Star Wars game, which makes it even more difficult to measure its performance in the Steam game, if at all. Not to mention, owners of 64GB models will need to arm themselves with the best Steam Deck SD card options to install in their PDA.
Suffice it to say that there is a degree of uncertainty as to whether the system hardware is up to the task. Some hope that Steam Deck 2 will be more powerful so that more games can be run on it. However, aside from Valve saying it wants the next iteration of its portable powerhouse to have a better display and better battery, there’s no way of knowing what the successor’s specs will be.
Hopefully we’ll get some clarification from the developer before Star Wars Jedi Survivor’s release date, but there’s no guarantee we can expect good news on Steam Deck compatibility.
