The low system requirements won’t hurt your gaming PC, and you can explore Obsidian’s bug-ridden backyard with an older Nvidia GTX graphics card. The same goes for the game’s RAM and CPU requirements, but you might be out of luck when it comes to Steam Deck support.
According to Grounded’s system requirements, you can play a game inspired by Honey, I Shrunk the Kids using an Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti, a decade-old mid-range GPU. Obsidian hasn’t provided recommended specs yet, but using a better graphics card will help you get better frame rates at higher resolutions.
Grounded’s lenient GPU requirements are matched by similarly light CPU specs, with Obsidian listing an Intel Core i3-3225. This particular chip came out just before the GTX 650 Ti in 2012, so you don’t have to pay for a better gaming CPU.
Most newer versions require at least 8GB of memory, but Grounded only requires 4GB, so whether you’re using the best cheap gaming PC or an outdated gaming laptop, you should be able to handle bugs. giants with ease.
Fortunately, the crumb-sized Obsidian Crusade requires minimal storage space, as Grounded Steam only requires 8GB to download. Naturally, freeing up some extra space will save you stress later on, and using the best SSD for gaming will eliminate any potential bottlenecks.
Can I play Grounded on the Steam Deck?
Unfortunately, Grounded is listed as unsupported on the Steam Deck. While the early access version appears to run on a portable power station, the full version appears to crash before the first loading screen. That doesn’t mean you won’t get your Verified status in the future, as Valve is actively working with developers to get all of their store games working on deck.
