The 2022 Roblox Innovation Awards, formerly known as the Bloxys, took place on September 10 as part of the Roblox Developers Conference in San Francisco. Along with the rebranding, Roblox’s largest awards show honored the best creators of Roblox games, experiences, and content.
Welcome to Bloxburg, the RPG recently featured on the TV show What We Do in the Shadows, which won the award for Best International Hit, beating out other RPGs from Club Roblox and Livetopia, as well as the platformer Tower. of Hell.
Winner of Game of the Year at Bloxys in 2021, Piggy scored another win this year with Best Content Update. BedWars won the People’s Choice Award but lost to Deepwoken for Best New Experience.
The awards ceremony also featured several themed categories of creators. Fans were thrilled to see controversial YouTuber Flamingo claim video star of the year, beating out kid-friendly duo Lankybox, Hispanic YouTuber Lina, and Roblox mainstay ItFunneh. itsFunneh won Best Video Star of the Year for “My $1,000,000 Mansion” on Roblox.
The event capped off the annual Roblox Developers Conference, which brings together Roblox developers and creators from across the country to discuss the company’s accomplishments over the year and discuss what Robloxians expect in the coming months. This year, the company announced that it would relax restrictions on text chats for users over the age of 13 to continue attracting older audiences. He also shared many upcoming updates to the platform, including changes to its user-generated content programs, expansions to its Star Creator programs, celebrity and influencer verification, improved Roblox developer analytics, and more.
