Magnit is located in the cobalt coastal areas including Ginkgo Landing and Spring Trail. These regions can be detected by space-time distortion.
To counter space-time distortions, you must defeat Cleaver, have a two-star rank or higher, and have access to the Crimson Mirelands. Once all of these conditions are met, the space-time distortions will appear throughout your game. These events happen by chance and there is no specific way to call it. The more time you spend in the area, the more likely it is to spawn.
As soon as you catch a magnet, you can try to complete the research quests. For this you will have to fight, catch and defeat the magnets that you will encounter throughout the game. If you find them in these places, you will be able to complete your Pokedex file for Magnemite. Hisuian Pokedex number is #177.
