Apex Legends: Saviors is only the Season of the Valkyrie, it seems that Winged Avenger has become the most beloved legend in the game and has its own set of treasures.
In season 13, Valkyrie has long been the focus of an audience that found her to be too powerful, especially compared to Pathfinder. Now, after the Apex Legends Global Series Championship in Year 2, where Valkyrie maintained a high pick rate of 98%, the overall playerbase seems to have done the same.
It’s great to see how ALGS changes the meta (slightly):
Valkyrie +7.49% pick rate
Gibraltar +9.12%
Seeing +23.3%– Apex Legends Status (@_ApexStatus) July 11, 2022
In early June, Valkyrie was third in Apex’s Legend pick rate.
But here’s how the Legend’s stream rates/popularity data fluctuated about two months into Season 13, according to Apex Legends Status:
- Valkyrie: 10.9%
- Octane rating: 10.6%
- Breit: 10.4%
- Directive: 8.9%
- Greyhound: 8.3%
- Horizon: 6.1%
- Lifeline: 4.7%
- Bengaluru: 4.5%
- Viewers: 4.3%
- Lobes: 3.6%
- Ash: 3.5%
- Insurance: 3.4%
- Caustic: 3.2%
- Mirage: 2.9%
- Gibraltar: 2.9%
- Watson: 2.3%
- Yield: 2.1%
- Closing: 2.1%
- Crazy Maggie: 1.8%
- Newcastle: 1.8%
- Crypto: 1.6%
Note that this data was taken at the time of publication at 4:43 p.m. ET on July 12. According to Apex Legends Status, this data is retrieved using a sample of 13.7 million players in their API databases. This includes data from unranked players, including those who have reached Apex Predator.
According to the data, while Valkyrie beat Octane and Wright in the popularity contest, this improvement mostly seems to be the result of lower audition rates in Bloodhound, Newcastle, and Rampart.
Overall, it will be interesting to see how Respawn handles Legend balancing going forward.
