The report was delivered by the Game Developer server with a link to the developers who wished to remain anonymous. According to them the requirement does not apply to VR games and is not retroactively required for already released games..

Developers must be notified of the new request via an update on the Sony Developer Portal.

Sony should be open to this. a classic demo version will be released instead of a time-limited trial version. However, these cases must be agreed on a case-by-case basis. Developers and publishers can continue to offer free weekends, trials and demos for all PlayStation console owners.

Sony looks forward to subscription trials PlayStation Plus Premium, which will cost 445 kr per month, 1300 kr for three months and 3120 kr per year. Learn more about subscription here.

If we look at how much PS5 and PS4 games sell for, the requirement applies to most games. Of course, for big titles from well-known publishers, but also for smaller ones, including multi-hour single-player projects, where a two-hour trial can represent a significant part of the experience.
