They embrace Sony’s ambitions in live-service gaming as their own. Sony has canceled two more unannounced projects. It’s about live service version of God of War by Bluepoint Games And game from Bend Studio. Bloomberg reports this.
We don’t know anything specific about any game. Jason Schreier says both proposals were dropped after a recent internal review. The project from Bend Studio was supposed to use the open world mechanics from Days Gone. According to the leaked materials, it was supposed to be a combination of Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell. We were supposed to play in third person in some kind of sci-fi world.
Apparently, the authors of the Demon’s Souls remake were supposed to work on two projects in 2021. Their desire was to create an original name. The other was supposed to be a remake of sorts.
What will happen to Bluepoint Games and Bend Studio? Both teams have a lot of experience and can become valuable members of the PlayStation Studios family. But layoffs are not excluded. This was announced by a Sony representative. Cancellation of projects will not lead to closure of studies. Together they will decide on other projects.
Sony previously canceled multiplayer “The Last of Us” by Naughty Dog, shooter from Deviation Games And Concord. He was the only one who reached the players, but he did not last long.
