American publisher 2K Games has begun shutting down and monitoring removing custom launcher 2K of all the games that have so far required its implementation in PC versions.

With this change, 2K software will no longer be required to install and run 2K games through digital stores such as Steam or Epic Games. However, company representatives note that in the case of some titles you will need to download a small update or restart the game client or computer you are using.

The change affected, for example, games such as Mafia Trilogy Definitive Edition, XCOM 2, Sid Meier’s Civilization V, The Quarry, Marvel’s Midnight Suns or the BioShock series.
