Players don’t expect much romance from Avowed

We now know the price as well as the hardware requirements of the upcoming Avowed RPG. However, this is not all that the creators presented to the world. Among other things, there was also a diagram of what the relationship between the characters would actually be. Those of you expecting to be able to have relationships with companions like in Baldur’s Gate 3 right out of the gate, or deal with gender identities with them like in the latest Dragon Age, may be a little disappointed. We can’t do anything like that. Judging by the interview for the IGN server, it seems that instead of implementing novels, the developers are primarily focusing on purebred relationships between characters without various embellishments.

According to development lead Carrie Patel, the bet on this map is to give players a much richer experience, and that makes sense. However, in the long term, this does not preclude novels from appearing after release. Avowed will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S and Game Pass on February 18, 2025.
