The leak of a battle pass with twenty free levels has once again fueled the fears of fans Assassin’s Creedwho are slowly but surely losing hope that the Shadows series will become a success. Ubisoft is trying to tone things down and calls the speculation inaccurate.
The French publisher clarified that all awards available in Animus Hub (formerly called Infinity) will be completely free. They shouldn’t be on the menu. no paid items or paid battle pass. Not to mention some kind of subscription, which was also discussed.
In the announcement, Ubisoft adds that regular content and missions will be free. We should know more details closer to release. It looks like Ubisoft wants to fuel players’ desire to continue playing Assassin’s Creed through the Animus Hub. The Ubisoft Connect app works similarly. Rewards are expected to include character costumes, weapon skins or your horse’s appearance, as well as raw materials and virtual currency (Isu coins).
The question is how they will act microtransactions. In Assassin’s Creed Shadows itself, we can expect Ubisoft to sell additional equipment or allow players to unlock cosmetic content earlier. The game will be released on February 14, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
