Seven years ago, the first installment of the amazing Horizon series proved to us that there was still room for new brands to thrive in the video game industry. Thus, this opportunity allowed us to experience one of the best gaming stories and introduced us to one of the most unique gaming worlds. So it’s no surprise that Dutch studio Guerrilla Games wanted to showcase its work to a completely different class of players in the form of an upcoming game. LEGO Horizon Adventure.
Last Friday we had a unique opportunity to visit one day at the Frankfurt PlayStation branch and for an hour and a half explore what the expected new game from the world of Horizon will offer players. And these are our first impressions.
LEGO Horizon Adventures was introduced to us at the very beginning of the game. In addition to presenting the already known history, we they installed about four levels, they explored the Mother’s Heart including completely new mechanicsthat LEGO Adventure brings to the world of Horizon. And that includes storytelling. While the story stays true to the axis of the original work, it attempts to tweak it significantly. more optimistic and simplified tones. They’re just trying to be so called for family holidays. So they won’t disappear funny dialogues between the main characters such as Aloy, Rost or Varl. We were constantly smiling and laughing at the dialogue, and I can personally say that it really had that exaggerated feel that we know from the LEGO games. The dubs of the main characters, retained by the original actors, also took on a more optimistic tone.
A story that will take you about 8 hours to complete, then you will enjoy it even more as you progress through individual levels, which we definitely cannot say are simplified. This is mainly because Each level—and indeed the entire game—is made entirely of LEGO bricks.. In this regard, the developers certainly did not make their work easier with any painted backgrounds or decorations. And I must admit that it definitely paid off. Running around and destroying barrels, the remains of buildings, or simply splashing in a pond of bones is a pleasure in itself. This definitely helps with exploration, which is one of the two main gameplay components.
