The investment group, formed by Aleph Capital Partners and Crestview Partners, boasts significant capital investments in Saber Interactive. The studio positions itself as a leading independent developer for all major platforms. It has successful games under its belt: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 (released 09.09.2024), World War Z, SnowRunner, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game or Insurgency: Sandstorm.

And here it comes. As for the upcoming games, the group mentions Star Wars: Knights of the Old RepublicJurassic Park: Survival, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, RoadCraft and Tempest Rising. So, we have confirmation that after Aspire, Saber took over the work on Kotor and continued development.

With this investment, Sabre management was able to pay off all debt owed to Embracer Group in connection with a recent management-led share buyback, the investment group said.

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake was announced in 2021 for PlayStation 5 and PC, after Aspyr had already been working on it for three years. But Sony and Embracer Group weren’t satisfied with the development, putting it on hold for a while, and then moving it directly to Saber. Saber’s CEO last spoke about the game in April of this year. However, Saber has since pulled away from the Embrace.
