South Korean company Nexon has released the free co-op TPS event The First Descendant on PC and consoles. At its core, it is a traditionally conceived looter shooter set in the future, and it has attracted a lot of interest from players, as evidenced by Steam data. Here, the game has become one of the most popular games in history, when it once managed to attract more than 229 thousand playersAt least in this direction the developers can be satisfied. However, the perception of the game itself is much more controversial.
The First Descendant certainly didn’t have it all smooth sailing, as illustrated by Steam rating at 50%. Players complain about various technical issues and optimization flaws, which is complemented by frequent criticism of aggressive microtransactions. Other users then mention too much copying of selected mechanics from other successful games. Although the new release from Nexon had a relatively strong start, due to criticism, it remains questionable whether it will be able to maintain a large player base for a longer period of time.
In addition to fixing the aforementioned shortcomings, it will undoubtedly be influenced by the amount and structure of additional content that the developers plan to provide the game in the long term. The First Descendant is available on PC (Steam), as well as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
