Ubisoft Toronto Quits, Works on Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia Remakes

Ubisoft confirmed that 33 employees will be leaving its Toronto studio, PC Gamer reports, less than a month after the team joined the remake’s development. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. “Ubisoft Toronto has decided to undertake a targeted restructuring to deliver on its ambitious plan. Unfortunately, this will impact 33 team members who will be leaving Ubisoft. We are committed to providing them with comprehensive support, including severance packages and career assistance, to help them navigate these changes,” Ubisoft said.

Ubisoft is among the companies with the fewest layoffs this year. It has laid off 45 people across its Asian teams, but the massive waves of layoffs have so far eluded it. They have also helped good financial results supported mainly by TV series Assassin’s Creed And Rainbow Six.
