Nintendo chose a rather unconventional strategy and already announced in April that we would have another Direct in June. This is mainly because the same tweet announced that we will see the launch of a new console this financial year. Even then, company president Shuntaro Furukawa made it clear that there would be no mention of the next console in the Direct.
Now we have learned that the Direct will take place tomorrow, i.e. June 18 at 16:00 Central European Summer Time. Nintendo has once again indicated that there will be no talk of a new console at all, but instead we should wait for Switch games that will be released in the second half of this year. The presentation will last approximately 40 minutes and can be viewed on YouTube.
Of course, there are different assumptions about what could appear at the event, but we already have one fairly plausible leak. Fans of Capcom’s legal adventure series Ace Attorney will be pleased, because this is the one that should appear in Direct. The information first appeared on a Chinese forum, but then it was essentially confirmed by a very trusted insider, Pero. With your tweet “I’m investigating this” in addition, he made it very clear that this would be a spin-off of Investigations. Either the third volume, which is less likely, or rather a collection of the first and second volumes.
Investigations 2 is considered by many to be the best game in the series, but until now it has only been available in Japan, although there is a very good fan-made English localization. Capcom would get every game in the series on modern platforms (barring the Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright crossover). The first trilogy was remastered in 2019, followed by a collection of historical spin-offs, Chronicles of a Great Lawyer, and the second trilogy was released in January of this year.
