Studio Ninja Theory released the story-driven action adventure Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 in May. received a positive reception, as evidenced, for example, by the rating of 81% on the aggregator Metacritic. Besides the audiovisual treatment and cinematic story, the overall atmosphere and the acting of individual characters are praised the most. On the other hand, shorter playing time is often cited as a disadvantage, which most often ranges from seven to nine hours, according to the HowLongToBeat website.
Despite the shorter playing time, a significant portion of players did not make it to the end credits. TrueAchievements magazine, reviewing achievements in detail, specifically found that the game is currently on Xbox, 87% of players did not complete the game. In addition, the list includes only users who have launched the game at least once. It was further revealed that the first boss only 52% of players beat it. The fact that the majority of users do not get to the game is nothing new or surprising. This trend is especially noticeable in large-scale games that require tens, and in some cases hundreds of hours of time.
However, in the case of the relatively short Hellblade 2, this is somewhat unexpected. Aside from the relative distance from the release itself, the Game Pass launch likely has some influence on the results. It is through subscription that the game is played available to a large group of players, which I tried for a while just out of curiosity and then put it aside.
