Developers Crytek have announced some big news and changes coming to the Hunt: Showdown multiplayer event in the coming months via the video embedded above. First of all, August 15th transition to a more modern CryEngine 5.11. The authors themselves called this change a completely new chapter for the entire game. Native versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles will be released on the same day.

At the same time, the transition to a newer version of the engine and the associated higher hardware requirements will mean End of support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. The developers said that existing players on last-gen consoles will be offered a free upgrade to current-gen consoles, including saving their previous profile and progress. In addition to consoles, Hunt: Showdown is also available on PC. On Steam alone, about 15,000 players regularly play the game, which is not bad for a five-year-old game.
