Manor Lords is one of the biggest hits of recent weeks. Its quality is evidenced not only by sales, but also by the enthusiastic reactions of players, shocked that such a high-quality game was created by one developer. And it was the idea of a lone creator that made the competition somewhat tougher. Arthur Bruno, the man behind the Farthest Frontier strategy, took issue with the fact that Polish developer Greg Styczen is acting on his own, as is sometimes portrayed. According to him, he would definitely not call him a lone developer, since the author of the construction delicacy has at hand two more programmers, an illustrator, a history expert, 3D animators and a number of others, thanks to whom his team can easily be larger than the one which Arthur Bruno has.
If you’re wondering what made the creator of Farthest Frontier react a little annoyed, it’s primarily news from the community, which considers his team to be something of a giant, while the creator of Manor Lords is being held up as the poster child for the individual developer while like him he’s definitely not alone, and theoretically he could have a bigger team than Bruno. The question is definitely whether the gaming industry should reconsider which games should be celebrated as the work of a single author, and which, on the contrary, should be considered classic game projects.
If you want to try Manor Lords, you can currently find the game on PC.
It would be a complete exaggeration to say that Manor Lords was created by a “single developer,” says the creator of a rival city-building project: “The team size is probably even larger than ours.” https://t.co/QmxrvNEaz5
