The Empire and the Dwarf armies have finally received reinforcements.

The Total War: Warhammer 3 – Thrones of Decay package, like its predecessors, contains a number of innovations. One of the main fans of the gnomes will be seen already in the game menu, where he is watched by the crazy gnome technician Malakai Makaisson, who begins his journey in the Kraka Drak fortress. Anyone who has ever played Total War: Warhammer knows that Dwarves do not survive long in a given space, as they are a bulwark against Chaos. But this brutal genius has cards with which he can change the course of history. There are new technologies, legendary heroes and, above all, a reinforced army of killers that will have no problem cutting almost anything to pieces.

His army is really strong, but what really interests you is the ability to call an airship into battle for him. This can be either part of the unit offering or just a one-time combat activity. It then serves as a “camp” outside the battlefield, which is upgraded. However, despite her presence, surviving in a space full of demons is a carnage. But you cannot focus only on the struggle for life on the path to victory. There are also adventures where you complete various tasks. If you manage to complete enough of them, you will have the opportunity to fight in some spectacular battle, for which you will be rewarded as you deserve.

Resentment then plays a much larger role in the lives of mechs than before, so if you want to unite quickly, you will have no choice but to right wrongs in a big way. Additionally, this mechanic gives you access to a number of interesting units that can be used to gain respect in the North. In short, Malachi Makaisson was really missing here, so I ended up spending a lot more time with him than I originally planned. However, this is not the only thing that Total War: Warhammer 3 – Thrones of Decay has. The Empire also enriched itself, and in this case the community that had long called for Nuln and Wissenland arrived. They formed a single alliance under the leadership of Elspeth von Draken.

The new human faction is among those that largely base their strength on the use of gunpowder. Nuln is a province that specializes in artillery and firearms in general. Elspeth von Draken herself is a powerful magician, possessing strong magic and her own dragon, which Karl Franz or Balthasar Gelt can only envy. He brings new rifle units onto the battlefield, including a landship that rolls across the battlefield, destroying everything in its path. Personally, I quite liked her as a long rifle shooter with a very decent range.

Like Makaisson, Elspeth is actively working with technologies focused on dusty games in Total War: Warhammer 3 – Thrones of Decay. Cross-faction unit upgrades are fun for her, and to top it all off, she also has special amethyst units at her disposal that can be used to do nice things as well. While I was able to take full control of the Dwarven and Nurgle campaigns after a while, in Elspeth von Draken’s case it was an end-to-end battle lasting dozens of turns.

A good crew is Tamurkhan’s main weapon

Before the release of Total War: Warhammer 3 – Thrones of Decay, I was probably least excited about the new legendary noble god Nurgle. In short, the monstrous Tamurkhan did not particularly impress me, because I am not a big fan of brute force. However, in the end I was very pleasantly surprised, as this brutal monster offered me more than it seemed at first glance. From the very beginning, I was surprised by the composition of this warrior’s troops. At his disposal was not exactly a slow army, but rather a decent corps, consisting of a considerable part of cavalry.

Like his corrupted friends, Tamurkhan can create plague in Total War: Warhammer 3 – Thrones of Decay. However, he is not as effective at this as the other minions of this god. His main asset compared to others is that he has a group of loyal heroes. He has the ability to recruit them and subsequently, through the realization of their desires, gain the trust of individuals, thereby opening not only their hearts, but especially the units and abilities associated with them.

In Total War: Warhammer 3 – Thrones of Decay, you can make a Chaos Dwarf, a Human Traitor, a Werewolf, and many others happy. Each of them has a special ability and three faction units belonging to the faction they represent, which in practice means that the blacksmith gives you, for example, a very effective mortar, while the former beast servant brings with him his monstrous look. . Thanks to this mechanic, you can create really interesting combinations. In addition, combat missions are very successful, just like other factions. However, compared to other Lords of Nurgle, she was not that suitable for me, although from a gameplay point of view she was not bad at all.

Total War: Warhammer 3 – Thrones of Decay changes the rules of the game again

The Dwarves, Empire and Nurgle get a proper boost thanks to the Thrones of Decay expansion for Total War: Warhammer 3, which helps all three factions a bit in terms of power and replayability. Each group received a new position and a bunch of important news. Dwarves have airships and adventure quests. The humans were given the honor of having access to more “guns”, and Nurgle was given a brutal lord and quite a few upgrades to show off. In my opinion, the set significantly changes the dynamics of the campaign and once again “upends” the established order, and this is good. I hope that the next pack will be as rich as this one, because I already have several dozen hours in it and I’m still discovering something new.

In the previous text, I already made it clear that the price of these DLCs could be an issue for some people. There was a significant percentage of players for whom this element became a reason to criticize Shadows of Change. That’s why Creative Assembly this time offered the option to buy only part of the pack, so Dwarf fans will only be able to purchase the Dwarf pack in the Thrones of Decay release, while Human or Decay fans have the option to take part of the pack. faction-oriented DLC. I myself would probably not be afraid to move on to selected works in their entirety.
