Blizzard representatives unexpectedly announced that BlizzCon will not take place this year. The traditional gaming event, where the company regularly unveils news and upcoming content for existing games, resumed last year after several hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic. But this year the fans waiting for another break, the reason for which Blizzard representatives did not fully explain. In a statement on the official website, the publisher only said that this year it decided to present its news differently.
It should be considered one of the main ones. Wars Within Data Disc for World of Warcraft or the first expansion “Vessel of Hate” for Diablo IV. At the same time, it was confirmed that in addition to unspecified smaller events, Blizzard will appear at Gamescom in August. Despite being absent this year, BlizzCon is expected to return in the future. However, the future format of the event is currently in question.
After careful consideration over the past year, we at Blizzard have decided not to host BlizzCon in 2024. We’re excited to bring BlizzCon back in the future, and we still have some exciting plans for events in 2024!
