Action movie “The Ape Man” hits theaters

When the Boy (Dev Patel) was very young, his mother told him the legend of the mythical monkey king Hanuman, who helped the helpless, persecuted by oppression and grievances. Then, right in front of his eyes, the authorities kill his mother, and the boy realizes that Hanuman is gone. Perhaps this is why, as an adult, he shows illegal fights in a monkey mask, where he allows himself to be beaten half to death by more popular wrestlers. In the darkest alleys of the city, he searches for a way to “those above” who so fatally harmed him so many years ago. When he finally discovers her, she becomes a formidable and terrifying instrument of revenge, designed to rid him of all the shadows of his past. Can he do it alone? And what will happen to him when he reaches the end of this road paved with death?

Dev Patel impressed moviegoers primarily as an Oscar-winning star. Slumdog Millionaires. IN Monkey men Not only does he play the lead role, but it also marks his directorial debut. “I grew up with the legend of Hanuman, so it is very close to me,” says actor and director Dev Patel, who spent eight years working on the script. “I wanted to give one of India’s oldest legends a modern cape so that it would appeal to an international audience as well. At the same time, I wanted to create an original epic story that had energy, soul, heart and crazy action.” Patel adds.
