In addition to the first information about a great real-time strategy Age of Mythology: Retellingwhich will be released this year on PC and Xbox with Czech subtitles, the New Year, New Age stream brought interesting facts about the Age of Empires series.
We’ll start with new additional content for Age of Empires 2: Complete Edition. Within Winners and losers The updated real-time strategy will feature 19 game scenarios. There have never been so many scenarios in any other DLC. 14 of them are inspired by popular creations from the community. Development is led by former modder Ramsey “Philtidelfia” Abdulrahi.
Scenarios include a Viking campaign following Ragnar Lothbrok raiding settlements in Northern Europe, Otto the Great’s attempts to befriend or oppose the Vikings, Hungarians and Franks, and a campaign set in Japan that allows the player to lead one of six unique clans as Oda Nobunaga, including ninja-like assassins from the Mori clan. Victors and Vanquised will be released on March 14th.
Meanwhile in Age of Empires 3: Complete Edition A test of two playable civilizations took place. The developers did not disclose what it is. Judging by the flags, this will be Denmark and the Polish-Lithuanian Union, which existed in Eastern Europe from 1569 to 1795. The DLC is targeted for release later this year.
Within Age of Empires 4 The developers continue the release of last year’s DLC The Salts Ascend. This is the best-selling addition in the history of the series. The update will release in the spring, at the start of the game’s seventh season, with several new features and content. A new fast-paced free-for-all multiplayer mode has been confirmed, and console players will be able to play team games.
Finally we got what we promised for a long time Mobile Age of Empires. The game is being developed in collaboration between World’s Edge and Tencent’s TiMi studio. Mobile hits such as Call of Duty and Pokémon Unite were created here.
Age of Empires Mobile will be released on Android and iOS this summer as a free-to-play real-time strategy game. The developers took the original from computers and modified it for touch controls. Plus they add the ability to put more than 40 heroes at the head of your army. Among them are Joan of Arc, Caesar or King Arthur. Heroes will gain levels, and you will be able to use their unique abilities in battle.
When besieging enemy settlements, there will be combat vehicles that break through the walls so that infantry units can then be sent there. During combat, you must take into account the terrain; swamps will slow down your troops, and the forest can be an advantage when organizing an ambush. There will be four factions to choose from: Byzantines, Chinese, French and Romans.
