Developers from the Slovak studio Grindstone have announced the exact release date of the fighting game Die by the Blade. A game will be released May 16 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), and in October – on consoles. The release date was revealed after a long period of uncertainty caused by a dispute between the authors themselves and the original publisher of the game, Kvali.
After all, it was initially assumed that it would be released at the end of 2022. Die by the Blade belongs to the genre of so-called a fighter who can kill with one blow and bets on 1v1 multiplayer battles for two players. The title takes inspiration from the original PlayStation game Bushido Blade.
“We’re thrilled to bring Die by the Blade to our great community directly and alongside our players so they can shape the game’s creative vision! This decision was difficult for a small independent studio like Grindstone, and very difficult to implement. However, despite challenging and challenging times in the games industry, we rose to the challenge and were able to secure external funding to re-acquire the rights to Die by the Blade. This will allow our development team to unleash the true potential of Die by the Blade to our community.” says Peter Nagy, CEO of Grindstone.
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our community for their unwavering support and endless patience. Developing Die by the Blade turned out to be a much more challenging task for a small developer than we initially expected. With the support of our partners, we were finally able to complete the game and are excited to finally release it to our community.” adds Grinsdone production director Matej Hudak.
