In recent days, there have been significant revolutions in the field of fan locations. The biggest blow in this direction was the announced closure of the Prekladyher.eu portal, which brings together community translators. In the future, they will have no choice but to find a new refuge. Translators from the Lokalizace.net team or the developing Game Translations project have already lent a helping hand in this direction.
But now another sad news has come. Termination of activities announced the famous team of translators COTT – Czech team of original translators, which has so far produced localizations for a total of 22 games. In the Czech Republic, thanks to the efforts of this group, it was possible to play games such as Deathloop, XCOM 2, Age of Wonders 4 or both parts of the Divinity: Original Sin series. The translators even had a contract with the authors of this RPG series from the Larian studio, thanks to which the Czech language was officially published.
Likewise, the translation of Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently under the direction of COTT. However, the localization of this award-winning game will be the last project of this team.
