Sony and Koei Tecmo invest in mobile publisher Akatsuki

Japanese company Akatsuki entered into a capital and business alliance with a couple of also Japanese publishers Sony And Koey Techmo. As part of the agreement, she sold 9.87% of the shares to the first and 7.97% to the second. As a result of the partnership, the company promises to expand its operations to the West, as well as develop games for PC and home consoles.

“The company will continue to deepen its relationship with Sony (…) to create new business opportunities and work together to expand into overseas mobile gaming markets, both those currently in development and those to come in the future. [Se Sony bude] We also collaborate on co-production and development of new IPs and content,” describes Akatsuki.

With Koei Tecmo, Akatsuki wants to collaborate in three areas: the development of next-generation multi-platform live service games, the expansion, marketing and publishing of live service games, and, as in the case of Sony, the development of new intellectual property, content and services.
