Publisher Versus Evil was definitely not one of the biggest players in the gaming market. However, this does not mean that she was not behind a number of interesting projects that were rejected by most major publishing houses. Thanks to the work of this company, it was possible to send into the world, for example, Pillars of Eternity or the excellent series The Banner Saga. After ten years of existence, this company is closing. This is how she said goodbye to the community on X: “Today is a sad day. After ten amazing years, Versus Evil is closing its doors. We really enjoyed bringing you the best indie games we could find and sharing happy memories with all of you, our wonderful community! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything!”
It’s very sad that this happened just during the Christmas holidays. However, this year the guys from Versus Evil are just a drop in the bucket. In total, the industry laid off more than 9,000 workers, which is indeed a large number.
