Apparently we are talking about Main menu “The Last of Us Online”. The developers were counting on having a battle pass, a store, and the ability to customize your character in terms of cosmetics and equipment.
The Last of Us Online was beyond Naughty Dog’s strength. The studio had two options: become a company focused exclusively on live services, or return to story-based single-player games. The management chose the second option, and the teams are preparing more than one ambitious, completely new single-player game.
