The famous survival game DayZ from the Czech studio Bohemia Interactive is enjoying unprecedented popularity 10 years after its release. A title originally created as a modification for the second Arma, was released in 2013 as a standalone game in the Steam Early Access program, where it managed to attract a large group of players. However, the number of active users gradually decreased due to inconsistent technical status and the relatively slow delivery of new content and improvements.
The turning point came only with the release of the full version and the abandonment of early access, which happened in December 2018. From this date the number of players gradually increased again, helped by several free weekends in addition to ongoing support for the game in the form of updates and new content. The fact that the developers managed to revive the game is evidenced by the current number of active users, which has surpassed all previous values.
According to the SteamDB page, Dayz has been playing for a while over the past few days. more than 69 thousand players, which diminished even the values that the game attacked immediately after entering early access. Let’s see how the developers cope with the newly charged popularity. Some time ago, for example, rumors appeared about a possible full-fledged continuation. Either way, what’s certain is that DayZ definitely hasn’t had the last word even after ten years. In addition to PC (Steam), the game is also available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
