“I hope Microsoft doesn’t judge us harshly” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 development has accelerated – INDIAN

Today, the sequel to last year’s successful Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is being released for computers and the last two generations. But, as it turned out a few days ago, this part will not be one of those that fans remember. Despite this, it will have excellent sales that other games can only envy.

Players and journalists alike have complained about this year’s weird, boring, and short story campaign. Modern Warfare 3. Others look only at the improved multiplayer maps from the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2, and that doesn’t even save the fight against the hordes of the undead in Treyarch’s new open world. In short, it is clear that this Call of Duty hastily put together.

This is confirmed by some employees of the Sledgehammer Games studio. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier learned from them that Modern Warfare 3 was created in less than a year and a half. Typically, developers have three years to develop a new Call of Duty. But this year’s release had to be created on a shorter timeline to fill a gap in the release schedule after another Call of Duty was delayed, which was originally planned for 2023.

Thus, older assumptions were confirmed. Modern Warfare 3 was originally intended to be an expansion of Modern Warfare 2, although Activision never acknowledged this. Only later it was decided to make a premium game at full price. Some had to work nights and weekends, so the game will be released this November. They feel betrayed by the company because after the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard they were promised that the development schedule would no longer be reduced.

From disgruntled employees, Schreier learned that in the early months the project was called “Jupiter”, and the story was intended to be a small spin-off of Modern Warfare, set in Mexico. However, last summer the decision was made to create a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2, focusing on the villain Vladimir Makarov with missions around the world.

The guys at Sledgehammer Games should be worried that Microsoft won’t judge them harshly for the critically panned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.. The shortened development cycle had no impact on the studio. This was a decision by Activision, for which Call of Duty is the most important brand. Over the past 20 years, the series has grossed more than $30 billion. Microsoft recently completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, buying the company for $68.7 billion, and it looks like they won’t be so tied to a CoD release every year.

Aaron Hulon from Sledgehammer Games responded to the Bloomberg article, but did not write anything useful. Of course he chose classic PR talk. For example, he mentions his great love for Call of Duty and the fans, and says that the team is incredibly proud of Modern Warfare 3.
