Iron News #19 – Steam Deck OLED and Avatar are free for AMD hardware

The last few days have been really good for hardware news. Of course, the most talked about Steam Deck will be the OLED version. Before Christmas, Valve showed off an improved handheld model that will be on the wish list of many gamers. This is not such a big upgrade over the basic LCD version that owners can buy the new product in bulk, but it will be of interest to those who were not sure about the purchase. The Steam Deck OLED improves on perhaps the only two shortcomings of the base variant, namely display and durability. Bigger screen, better colors, higher brightness, longer game time at a good price.

The avatar from Ubisoft will arrive in early December (in addition to the trailer for GTA 6). We’d rather not speculate on whether it’ll be Far Cry in disguise, either way you’ll be able to get the game for AMD processors and graphics for free. The promotion also applies to laptops with a combination of both. A complete list of components included in the event can be found in the article.

Needless to say, Nvidia got involved too. She has already confirmed the press release at CES. What will the company’s gaming division show? It will almost certainly be the new “Super” graphics. In particular, the improved RTX 40 series with a focus on older models.

For tests, be sure to read the closet review from be queit! Here the company name is really in place, and we haven’t had a calmer article in the PCTuning editorial office for a long time. We also have a guide for Linux users if you’re a little confused.
