According to unofficial sources, after layoffs at Naughty Dog and Visual Arts Studio, the wave will continue, and the next PlayStation studio Media Molecule.

The British team behind Little big planet And Dreams, today at an internal meeting I should have learned that as part of the restructuring process, 15 to 20% of employees will lose their jobs. That’s an estimated twenty of the company’s current 135 people, GLHF said.

Media Molecule has been focusing on developing Dreams for the past few years, but this spring they decided to stop developing further updates. Instead, the authors focus on new project. The latter is described as exciting.

In May of this year Sony has closed the PixelOpus studio, created by Concrete Genie. Recently there were reports of layoffs at Naughty Dog due to the freezing of The Last of Us multiplayer, and part of the Visual Arts support team was also supposed to go to work.

A large number of companies have announced layoffs this year, including Epic Games, Microsoft, Sony, Embracer Group, Take-Two, Crystal Dynamics, Roblox, Team17, Sega, BioWare, Unity, Blizzard and CD Projekt.
