Hines is one of Bethesda’s most famous characters. He was the boss Bethesda Softworks, the publishing division of the famous company behind The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. We could see him at press conferences. But after the release of Starfield, he realized that this was the peak of his career and decided to change.

“This in no way means goodbye.” My love for Bethesda and its people has never waned, and I will never stop being a part of the incredible community we have created.” stated and thanked everyone in the company.

“Thank you to the hundreds and thousands of fans I have been able to meet and talk to over the past 24 years. Your energy, creativity and support have been a big part of my journey. I look forward to experiencing the next part of the adventure with you.”

Bethesda acknowledged his role in introducing Bethesda to the public, which was only a small part of his work. The way he represented Bethesda reflected the company’s values: authenticity, integrity and passion.

“We are grateful for his 24 years of leadership and wish him the best in his next chapter.” she added Bethesda.

In March 2021, Microsoft completed its acquisition of ZeniMax Media from Bethesda. Starfield released on September 6th of this year (players with a more expensive edition could play five days earlier), and on September 19th it was announced that the space RPG had reached 10 million players, marking the best start in Bethesda history. The game is part of Game Pass.
